Adam Schiff Receives Perfect Score on Voting Record for Legislation Affecting Women and Girls

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) has received a 100 percent score from the American Association of University Women (AAUW) for critical votes he cast in the 111th Congress on issues affecting women and girls. The AAUW is a charitable membership organization, with a nationwide network of nearly 100,000 members, including more than 20,000 in California.

“On behalf of the more than 100,000 bipartisan members and donors of the American Association of University Women (AAUW), I want to thank Congressman Schiff for his 100 percent rating in the AAUW Action Fund Congressional Voting Record for the 111th Congress, First Session,” said Lisa Maatz, AAUW’s Director of Public Policy and Government Relations. “We appreciate his support for AAUW´s priority issues, including his key votes to improve women’s economic security and to make higher education more affordable, as well as his co-sponsorship of legislation to enhance work-life balance for employees.”

Mike Feuer Leads Assembly Democrats Against Boy Scouts 100th Anniversary Congrats

Local Republican Congressmen David Dreier (26th District) and Democrat Adam Schiff (29th District) supported the Scouts. Dreier told the Courier, “The Boy Scouts of America work hard to better their communities and themselves, and deserve recognition for their efforts and accomplishments.”

Schiff is a cosponsor of U.S. House Resolution 356, which expresses “support for the designation of February 8, 2010 as ‘Boy Scouts of America Day,” and has a son, Elijah, who is a Cub Scout. Dreier also voted for the Congressional resolution.
